Jeanneau chooses Tasmania to show off new model Merry Fisher 1095
International boatbuilding giant, Jeanneau, chose Tasmania's stunning coastline as the backdrop for its new model Merry Fisher 1095's photoshoot. And Tassie didn't disappoint!
We (Boat Sales Tasmania) are the world's southernmost dealer for Jeanneau powerboats and sailboats, so this was a great opportunity to obtain shots from the other side of the planet rather than the usual Med shots they normally take. So it was arranged for freelance photographer, Bertrand Dequenne, and his family of models, to be flown in for a two-day shoot held in mid-November.
The 3-month old Merry Fisher 1095 (hull #21) was kindly loaned to us by her proud owners. This beautiful vessel is powered by twin 300hp outboards, so getting to each destination was fast, easy and comfortable. And, with 7 on board, there was ample space to move around without treading on each other.
Day 1 saw us visit the cliffs off Hinsby Beach in the Derwent River, only a 10-minute cruise from the city. We then set off across the river to Droughty Point and entertained the local cows with some drone action. Given we had 600hp at our disposal, it was decided that we venture further and headed down to the famous 'Duck Pond' in Barnes Bay, Bruny Island, but not before stopping to say 'hi' to the friendly seal sunbaking in the Channel.

After checking the weather forecast, I felt it was worth showing off some truly breathtaking coastline so, we threw the lines off early on day 2 and headed straight down the outside of Bruny Island to the Houndstooth at Cape Queen Elizabeth. The drone got a huge workout here and some spectacular footage was taken. The next part of the trip took across across Adventure Bay to Cosy Corner where we sat for lunch and enjoyed the scenery. The final photographs were taken and then it was time to head home.

Before flying out, I made sure our French friends didn't leave Tasmania without sampling some of our finest seafood. They all commented on how the whole experience was simply amazing and vowed to return to Tasmania to explore further.
