Boat Sales Tasmania are proud to present for sale TWO superb modern classic International 8 Metre yachts, “Juanita” (launched 2012) and “Juana” (launched 2004). The 8m’s are generally described as the most beautiful of all racing yachts and when seen powering to windward that beauty is simply breathtaking.
The owner’s brief demanded unstinting quality and world-class performance without consideration as to cost. Both vessels are similarly constructed, strip planked Huon Pine on Celery Top frames with Teak on fibreglass decks. Both were designed by Garry Lidgard and built by Keith Dobson Pty Ltd.
“Juanita”, a development of the “Juana” design, was commissioned with the express purpose of competing at the highest level in Europe. "Juanita" is a pure racing 8M with world-class innovations in design above and below the waterline. She is a scintillating performer and has campaigned in Europe competing against (and beating) the best 8 Metres in the world.
“Juana” was built and equipped to the same uncompromising standards as her younger sister. While still a beautiful and powerful performer she is not set up to compete in the hot world fleets. Club racing, leisure sailing is more her thing, that said she is equally a thing of beauty.
Our instructions are to sell. The owner is keen to see these two beauties settled with new owners who understand and appreciate fine vessels of this calibre. They are offered at prices which are a fraction of their original cost …
