J Boats J/99 Racer/Cruiser
$329,500 REDUCED
J-Boats have a strong racing pedigree. The remarkable J/99 enhances this heritage. This exhilarating, serious but manageable elite racing boat offers the keen racer the opportunity to compete (offshore or around the cans) and finish at the 'pointy' end. The deck layout and sail plan are optimized for easy handling, while the roomy cockpit accommodates 8+ for club day racing. But then, two-handed J/99's are winning prestigious offshore races worldwide. To quote a reviewer... “The J/99 will reward you with easy, high-speed sailing whether solo, two-up or with the whole gang. It will suit sailors who enjoy both inshore and offshore racing and are looking for a no-nonsense boat to help them shine. ” Below deck, the fit-out offers all the basic amenities and comforts while maintaining the race boat demand for maximum efficiency in terms of layout with weight minimization and weight distribution fundamental to design considerations.
“Hildr” is offered for sale somewhat reluctantly. The owner (owned from new) has enjoyed many happy and successful (see race results for 'Hildr" under General Remarks) years racing in southern Tasmanian waters. The time has come to hand over the tiller (or in this case, the wheel). This vessel is well-equipped and presents in excellent race-ready condition.
